Welcome to the USS Event-Horizon
On behalf of the crew, I'd like to welcome you! The USS Event-Horizon is a Constitution (refit) class starship, currently assigned to deep space exploration. This ship was named after a Deep Earth Exploration Vessel (DEXV) Event-Horizon. Since our launch, both ship and crew have functioned well... However, there have been several deaths among the crew,that have been unable to be explained... The causes of death are unknown... Our Security and Medical teams are unable to find any cause of death. However these are still under investigation...
Since the fourth day of being out in space, every night, on third shift, crewmembers have reported hearing strange sounds...Our Science, Security, and Engineering teams have not been able to identify the source of the sounds. However, if asked to describe it, it could only be explained as a howling...
DEXV Event-Horizon
In the year 2098, the DEXV Event-Horizon left Earth space on a two year mission, to explore galaxies outside of our own. As they continued to travel further from earth, there messages began coming in further and few in-between, which was expected. However, on December 31st, 2099, the ship would be heard for only one...last....time... What was received by the Earth Exploration Command (EEC) was classified from public knowledge, until 2120...The recording was released to everyone who wanted to see for themselves, the tragedy of the crew...
The recording starts with the ships commander, Captain Jose Ramirzo, giving a report on their location and mechanical status. Once the Captain reports that ship and crew have all functioned well, the lighting on the bridge goes out, and the emergency lights begin to strobe. The Captain leaves the screen , and the ship recorder continues to record. Screams and weapons fire can be heard in the background. After thirty seconds of flashing lights and smoke, what appeared on the screen for a split second appeared to be two human figures, cannibalizing one another....Then the screen goes dark and the message ends...
Never heard from again....
